This ebook provide a basic concept for SAP R/3. This is a very basic thing if you want to learn about SAP Basis.
The first chapter is talking about the history of SAP R/3 evolve into SAP Netweaver technology, and of the new architecture or technology foundations that are found in the new set of products or components of the SAP NetWeaver integration platform.
The Second Chapter explains the SAP kernel and how it evolved and prepared for the Web: from the traditional SAP Basis and the client/server architecture to the Internet Business Framework and then up to the current SAP Web Application Servers.
The third chapter introduces Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) by means of its integration and service-based platform, SAP NetWeaver.
The fourth chapter explains about The SAP presentation interface which will be the main point of access for all types of users of SAP systems, their business applications, and administration and development functions.
The fifth chapter provide the information about the process of changing an application software release to a newer, more current release, such as upgrading from SAP R/3 4.5B to SAP R/3 4.7.
The sixth chapter will explain the concept of Change and Transport System. This tools are which are linked to the ABAP workbench and the customizing functions, which are very important for managing and coordinating development and customizing work within a group of SAP systems.
The development environment of the SAP systems was traditionally based on a fully integrated set of development tools, functions, programming languages, and a data dictionary, grouped together under the name ABAP Workbench which will be explained in chapter seven.
Chapter eight describe about User Management and Security in SAP environments.
The ninth chapter covers all those administrative areas and management tasks that are basic
and typical in SAP systems, both SAP Basis and SAP Web Application based.
Chapter ten is intended to provide extensive information about performance and troubleshooting of SAP Solutions. It covers performance and workload analysis, SAP monitoring, and troubleshooting tools, and thus complements Chapters 2 and 9.
And the last chapter, Chapter eleven intended to provide an overview of the methodology, tools, resources, activities, and tasks involved in the implementation of SAP solutions and SAP projects, with focus on classical SAP R/3 Enterprise.
Once you know the basic concept for this book, I can assure you that you are ready to be a Basis consultant. Practically, some of you might be more convenient to not learning sequentially since we have to practice this knowledge into the real system also. But theoretically, it works for someone who want to know the concept first before practice in the real system.
